FAQ
How can I refer my child to your company?
Your child may be referred for therapy services by obtaining a written prescription from a pediatrician, primary care physician or specialist (neurologist, orthopedic, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist, opthalmologist, psychiatrist, etc.).

What ages does BLC Therapeutic Resources see?
We see children from ages birth to 20 years of age.

What days and/or hours do your therapist work?
The schedule of our therapists varies, but they typically work Monday-Friday, from 8:00am-6:30pm, but some evening or weekend therapy sessions may be approved. Please contact us to discuss a therapy schedule or if you must request a special time, such as an evening or weekend.

Can your therapists co-treat with therapists of other disciplines, like Speech and Language therapists?
Yes! We are able to co-treat with therapists/other companies of any other discipline, including but not limited to: Speech and Language Therapists, Physical Therapists, Behavior Analysts/Therapists, Audiologists, Psychologists, Neuro-Psychologists, etc.

What happens after the therapy evaluation?
Our therapist will explain the results of the evaluation to you and make any recommendations. Once the evaluation is completed, we get doctors’ orders to complete any therapy that has been recommended and obtain any necessary authorizations from your insurance company. This process generally takes 7-14 business days.

How many times a week will my child receive therapy services?
The frequency and duration of therapy treatment is dependent on the initial therapy evaluation and the insurance’s approval. Normally, therapy services are provided 2 or 3 times per week for 60 minute treatment sessions at a time. Commonly, therapy services are authorized for 6 months at a time.

What are the benefits of having therapy services provided at home/daycares/school setting?
The home, daycare and school settings are efficient environments to conduct therapy sessions as they are the most functional and natural environments for your child. Our therapists seek given spots free from distractions in order to work on a one on one basis with your child in the comfort of your own home depending on your availability and location.

How can I considerably impact my child’s progress in therapy?
For the caregivers to ensure the child’s progress in therapy, it is recommended that you make a 100% effort to be consistent and reliable with the therapy schedule. By being consistent and minimizing cancellations you will be able to carry out home programs created by your child’s therapist and keeping your scheduled sessions you will significantly contribute to your child’s progress.
