The possibilities are endless. The goal of BLC Therapeutic Resources II, Inc is to provide a holistic approach to each child focusing on their specific needs and wants in order to improve their independence and quality of life. Our therapists are licensed and many are bilingual (English/Spanish). Services are provided in the child’s home or at their school, and family involvement is promoted. For those children presenting neurobehavioral deficits, sensory intervention is provided. A child may be introduced or encouraged to tolerate different food textures, such as pureed, semi-solid, etc. The child may also be engaged in playing/manipulating shaving cream, sand and other various types of textures, using OT techniques and strategies, to promote appropriate sensory processing.

When working with children, BLC focuses on various skills. If working on fine motor skills or eye-hand coordination, our therapists can focus on handwriting, tying shoe laces, eating and buttoning/zippering, overall increasing hand skills to perform self-care tasks, academics and daily functional activities. Our therapists can also help a child increase their attention span to enhance learning skills, and even help them to learn how to play by promoting socialization, manipulation of toys/items, teaching cognitive skills, fine motor/gross motor skills, visual perceptual abilities and many other necessary tools to carryover through each developmental milestone. Other interventions may focus on developing their sitting/standing balance, endurance, strengthening, and overall functional mobility for daily tasks. The president and founder of BLC Therapeutic Resources, Belkys Campos, is a licensed occupational therapist who has experience working with children who have various diagnosis including, but not limited to: Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Brain Injury, Congenital Anomalies, Spina Bifida, Developmental Delay, Mental Retardation and Down Syndrome.
